I figured it was only appropriate to spend some time focusing on the lack of time…after, err, having a pretty serious stretch of a lack of time.
I make time for the things I love. First, family and friends. But the arrival of spring and sunny days has also brought many projects my way. These just aren’t obligatory to-do’s. These are things I want to be doing – to feel a different sense of accomplishment, to help my neighbors, and to have some me time.
I have found myself asking something absolutely ludicrous and embarassing: What would JLo do? Ahem, okay, think about it. She’s got twins, a divorce, probably some new romance, photo shoots, concerts, and more. JLo is likely busier than I am and she is making it through the day. I might not have nannies, but I have a husband who isn’t going anywhere, an older daughter who likes to help, and no demands of a career.
My days whizz by. Wake up. Breakfast. Clean up. Make and eat snack. Sweep crumbs. Read books. Play. Make lunch. Eat and prepare for nap time. Read more books. Sleep. Greet hubby. Play, clean, or veg while he makes dinner. Eat. Bathe. PJs. Bed.
How do you carve more hours out of the day?
